Missy reached out to me at the end of July asking if it’d be crazy to plan a destination elopement within a couple months. To her surprise I explained last minute destination elopements are not only possible, it’s done ALL THE TIME. She knew her and her fiancĂ© desired to elope in colorado, alone, with no one but the Rocky Mountains (and me as their photographer of course) to hear them share their intimate vows…. but specifically where should they elope in Colorado? They had no idea. Though after some dreaming and discussion, Travis and Missy decided on a sunrise elopement that felt secluded, yet was easily accessible, and didn’t have them hiking too far. After lots of research and some location scouting, I found the perfect location for them! A hidden gem on BLM land right outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. See for yourself in a glimpse of their final Rocky Mountain Elopement gallery down below :’ )
Missy’s mom did her modern yet affordable florals back in Minnesota with faux flowers that allowed her to travel easily with them. Her modern and romantic dress was David’s bridals, her custom bridal jacket was hand made by Missy, and their venue was the great outdoors of BLM land in the Rocky Mountains outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. Literally a dream come true, modern, romantic wedding.
They laughed, kissed, and celebrated A LOT in the day we spent celebrating their vows and marriage.
A couple of traditions they included were a first look, reading vows, a first dance together popping champagne, and lots of hiking with just the sunrise, moose, and I to be present :’ )
